Jennifer Hoffman Joins Nelson Mullins in Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Feb. 4, 2016)–Jennifer M. Hoffman has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP as an attorney in the Charleston office where she will practice with the Mergers and Acquisitions Team.

Ms. Hoffman joins the Firm from a Chicago-based hedge fund where she served as executive counsel and chief compliance officer and later general counsel. During her time at the hedge fund, she provided pre-incorporation legal advice to the CEO and managed all phases of business formation and start-up including structuring corporate entities and private investment funds, negotiating global markets trading agreements, preparing initial SEC and CFTC registration applications and ongoing disclosures, and maintaining a comprehensive regulatory compliance program. Before that, Ms. Hoffman served as associate counsel at a Chicago-based investment group. In addition to South Carolina, Ms. Hoffman is licensed to practice in Illinois and New York.

Ms. Hoffman earned her Juris Doctor from Tulane University. She earned a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in Management and Entrepreneurship from Tulane University A.B. Freeman School of Business, and she earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science and minor in Business Administration from Rhodes College.
