Atlanta Partner Erika Birg to Offer Arbitration, Restrictive Covenant Insights During Institute of Continuing Legal Education Seminars
ATLANTA (July 12, 2016)–Erika Birg, a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Atlanta office, will offer insights into the complex questions of arbitrability and Georgia’s Restrictive Covenant Act during two upcoming Institute of Continuing Legal Education in Georgia seminars:
On Aug. 5 at the 10th Annual Arbitration Institute, she will present on a panel on “Who Decides—The Arbitrator or the Court?” regarding who decides whether a dispute should be decided in arbitration—the arbitrator or the court? The presentation will focus on advanced questions of arbitrability for litigators and ADR professionals. Click here for registration information.
On Aug. 19 at Contract Litigation, her presentation, entitled “Georgia’s Restrictive Covenant Act: Five Years and Counting,” Ms. Birg will discuss how the May 2011 passage of Georgia’s Restrictive Covenant Act has changed the landscape of non-compete and non-solicitation litigation in Georgia. She also will discuss whether the results to date show that the statute accomplished what it was set out to achieve—greater predictability regarding the enforceability of restrictive covenant arrangements.
